(Source: Eleanor Holmes Norton) WASHINGTON, D.C.-At a briefing of the National Capital Region House Delegation, called by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), ranking member of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) alerted the delegation to significant safety concerns at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) following its safety management inspection (SMI) of WMATA's rail and bus transit systems.
